Not the Only One

Javier had promised his sister that he’d be at her wedding no matter what -- of course, he had no idea that “no matter what” would include being stuck in the bodies of one of her bridesmaids. He pulled his motorcycle up to the church to find it seemingly sparsely attended. He went inside to discover the few other attendees who had managed to make it had also been swapped. The groom was in the body of his sister. His sister was now in the body of an old man. What an odd couple they made now. His mom and dad were both in the bodies of young women from the local college. Both Javier and his sister’s bridesmaid had been alone at the time of the swap last night. He hadn’t turned on any news reports. He hadn’t heard about the Great Shift. He had no idea up until he walked into that building that he wasn’t the only one who had swapped bodies!
