Nursing Home

Sam approached the reception counter of the nursing house and spoke, “I’m here to see my grandfather.”

“Sure thing,” The receptionist replied before picking up a phone and dialing a number.

After a few moments, the receptionist spoke again, “Hang on, he’s not answering. Let me go check on him and tell him that his granddaughter is here.”

It took about ten minutes before the receptionist returned, and in that time, a smile had appeared on Sam’s face.

“Well,” The receptionist reluctantly continued, “You’ll be happy to know he’s okay, but he says he doesn’t want to see you.”

Sam sighed, “I suppose he’s angry at me for putting him in this place. I can’t blame him. No offense, of course, it’s lovely here, but no one wants to be in a nursing home.”

“None taken,” The receptionist smiled.

Sam’s smile turned into a bit of a smirk. The receptionist really had no idea. It was true that no one wanted to be in a nursing home, not even Sam. That’s why the last time his granddaughter had visited he used a spell to steal her body. After all, she was the one that had put him in here in the first place. If she thought it was good enough for him, then maybe she should spend some time here in his old withered body while he enjoyed the world in hers.
