The Business (Part 2)

Nancy had specified certain aspects of the dress that she had wanted Warren to wear while he was in Devin’s body. It should be short and black with pink heels and a wig. Warren bought all the items while still in Nancy’s body. After all, there was nothing suspicious about a woman purchasing such things. Also, since he used Nancy’s money, he wouldn’t have to bill her for the additional expenses later. He hid them near Devin’s house. He took a short break in his own body before switching with Devin and getting to work. Devin’s body looked quite silly in the dress, particularly with his five o’clock shadow. Warren briefly considered the fact that showing up on the trading floor like this might get Devin fired, but he shrugged it off. Most likely, he’d probably just get sent home for the day. Still, Devin would be hearing it from his co-workers for the rest of his life, and that was exactly what Nancy’s plan for revenge was. None of this bothered Warren. He was just doing this all to get paid.

It had been several months since Matt had switched bodies; he was still in the goth-y woman’s body. The baby in the gray-haired man’s body was making significant progress as well. Being in an adult body had apparently caused rapid brain development. He was sure no one be able to tell that there was a child’s mind inside the man’s body now.

Things took a strange turn when Matt returned one day with groceries, however. The baby had left a note scrawled on the daily news. He knew how well Matt had taken care of him, dedicated his life to him, but he was fine now and ready to go out on his own. Matt was alone again, and somehow he felt he knew that meant he’d start switching bodies again very soon...

Birthday (Part 21)

Matt had been taking care of the baby in the woman’s body for about a week, and he hadn’t shifted out of the gray-haired man’s body as of yet. He couldn’t remember the last time he had been in anyone’s body this long since starting to swap. He wondered if this was it. That is, until it happened again. This time it was different. It was familiar. He realized he had swapped with the baby in the woman’s body. It gave him hope. He had switched back to a previous body. Maybe one day he’d switch back to his own. Of course, now the baby was inside the gray-haired man, and he was still going to take care of the child. It was bath time now, and as he bathed the baby, it started to talk! It was certainly a day of good news for Matt!

It had been two days now, and they weren’t any closer to figuring out a way to switch everyone back into their own bodies. Ed had taken it hard. He was quite depressed being stuck in his elderly grandfather’s body. Plus, he knew he had been the one responsible, since he insisted on reading from that damned paper. But while Ed was depressed, Aaron was downright angry. He had been drinking heavily over the passed two days just so he could deal with the fact that he was now stuck in Alexa’s body. He often found himself glaring angrily at Ed or at his own body. He had no desire to be a woman, and he certainly had no desire to be Alexa! More than anyone, he hoped they could figure out a way to use that binder of papers to get back to normal soon!

Birthday (Part 20)

As a baby, Matt had a hard time telling time. He was always sleeping or eating, so days lost meaning. His next swap happened while he was taking a nap. He found himself in a middle aged man’s body with graying hair. When he awoke and found that he was an adult again, he had only one thought on his mind: finding the body the baby had swapped into. And he was more than thankful to find her alive. However, she was now a grown woman with the mind of a baby. Matt was not only happy that his suicide attempt hadn’t killed her, but he was even happier she managed to stay alive. After all, she seemed barely able to feed herself or do just about anything. Matt decided he’d try to take care of her as best he could, no matter what body he ended up in, at least until she could take care of herself. He hoped that sher infant mind would mature quickly in the body of an adult, but he honestly had no idea.

Birthday (Part 19)

His body jerked. Matt could tell the switch was faster this time, as though it was reacting to his suicide attempt. Trying to kill himself simply wasn’t an option, but would he ever even die? Switch bodies all the time was bad enough, but literally switching forever? The thought sent an unpleasant feeling through him -- no, wait, that unpleasant feeling was something else. He realized he was having trouble with his motor control. Then he realized -- he was now in the body of a baby! Things had gone from bad to worse, but he felt terrible about what this meant for the poor child swapped into the woman’s body he had just been in!

Birthday (Part 18)

There was only one bullet in the chamber. Matt thought about it some more. He could end it. End it all; end all this swapping. He left a mess of people in the wrong bodies throughout this chain. This would put an end to that. Then again, it would also mean that he’d be ending this woman’s life. Would that be fair to her? Even if there was no hope she’d ever get her own body back? He put the barrel in his mouth and pulled the trigger.

Family matters (Part 1)

Ed had found the strange binder of papers on his doorstep. He had been obsessed with them all day, despite a outing he had planned with his father, two brothers, and his girlfriend. They all begged him to put them down, but he refused. Instead, he started to describe the weird language inside, and started to attempt to read from it. A moment later, everyone felt strange. Ed realized he was no longer holding the papers in his hand, and that he was now inside the body of his own father! He began to panic, but his own voice attempted to calm him down. It was his girlfriend, Alexa, inside of Ed’s body. Ed’s grandfather was now in the body of one of Ed’s brothers, Nick. Nick was in the body of Ed’s other brother, Aaron. Finally, Aaron found himself in the body of Alexa. The words on the sheet must have been some sort of body swapping spell, and they each found themselves in the body of the person to their right. Alexa tried to read the page again, but nothing happened. Maybe she wasn’t doing it right. Ed began to panic. Ed’s grandfather took the situation quite well; he didn’t mind being in a young body for a time. Aaron was downright pissed. He started screaming how he didn’t want to be in Alexa’s slutty body. Alexa shouted back in anger. How dare he call her slutty! The whole family soon erupted into a massive argument.

Birthday (Part 17)

Matt was fed up with swapping. The short ones drove him especially mad. A few minutes as a gay man, then a few hours as the next woman, and before he knew it he had swapped again. He was a woman again--a bit of a punk from what he could tell. He was alone in a room with a strange case in front of him. He felt compelled to open it. Inside was a gun. Was it some sort of hidden message? Would killing himself be the only way out of constantly swapping bodies? But the gun couldn’t be a message. It was all just a coincidence. The swaps had been random--right?

Birthday (Part 16)

Matt nervously waited to switch into the next body. He felt the body behind him move. He started to scream as he realized the man was initiating a sexual experience with him. But in mid-scream, it happened again. Matt was in another new body. He paused his shouting for a moment before he cried out again. He was a woman again! He had swapped again! Was there no end to this series of swaps? Sure, ideally, he longed to be back in his own body, but he’d settle. He’d settle for a body similar to his own. Hell, he’d settle for any body. He’d be happy with the gay man’s body or a woman’s body. The body he was in would be fine! He just wanted to stop swapping, but he didn’t seem to have any control over it!

Getting back to normal

In the wake of the Great Shift, the biggest goal of most people was an attempt to bring their lives back to normal. There were more than a few challenges to doing this, but it was certainly starting to happen. The Donaldson family had switched bodies with the Wu family, for instance. The two Donaldson boys, Jimmy and Eric, had switched with Feng (the Wu father) and Mei (the eldest Wu daughter) respectively. Despite their new bodies, the boys still loved playing video games and goofing off. Jimmy would have a lot to learn about being much older, and Eric would have a lot to learn about being a woman. But for now, those things could wait.

Birthday (Part 15)

After feeling the tingle again, Matt once again found himself in a new body. He was glad to be back in a relaxing bed. From the looks of it, he appeared to be male again. He also felt a warm body rubbing up behind him. It felt good. He imagined a beautiful woman in the bed next to him. However, when he rolled over he was shocked to find himself in bed with another man! This time he had swapped with a gay man! But he also had all this guy’s hormones, and the situation he was in was turning his body on! The whole situation confused him, and he hoped to be hopping to his next body very soon!

“I’m really having trouble wrapping my head around all of this.” Alex spoke, “We arrived home to find this weird three pronged device on our table. We all touched it at the same time and somehow swapped bodies. Now Chris is in my body, I’m in Brittany’s body, and Brittany is in Chris’s body.”

“That seems to be the case.” Chris answered, “Maybe we should all try touching it again at the same time to switch back?”

“What if I don’t want to switch back?” Brittany asked.

Alex looked at her, “What!?”

“I mean, not just yet,” she added, “I’m curious! I want to know what it feels like to jerk off as a dude! Obviously, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity! I want to know what it feels like!”

“That’s MY body you’d be jerking off,” Chris scolded.

“Well, not presently!” Brittany smiled, “Right now it’s mine to do with what I please!”

"Holy cow! We've all switched bodies!" Joe exclaimed.

"Well, that's nothing for you and Mike," Ted retorted, "You guys are practically like twins! I wound up in Debbie's body! Now I've got blonde hair and tits! I'm probably going to get hit on by guys! Gross! Plus, I'm barely able to stand in these heels!"

"You think you have it bad," an enraged Debbie interupted, "I'm in your short, fat, and disgusting body, Ted! I want my own body back!"

"We all do," Mike finally interjected, "But do any of us know how we get back to our own bodies?"

Silence.
