Eggs

“What’s that awful smell?” My girlfriend asked as she walked into the kitchen shortly after waking up the morning after the Great Shift.

“I tried to cook us breakfast,” I explained. “I thought that since I was in a woman’s body that I’d know how to cook and stuff now.”

My girlfriend burst out laughing. “How can you possibly think there’s something inherent about someone’s gender that would make them good at cooking? I’m surprised you got dressed already. How did you manage to hook the bra?”

“What the bra?”

The way she looked at my chest sent a chill up my spine. I wasn’t sure if it was because she was looking at me and judging me the way a woman would judge another woman or if she was looking at me the way a man would look at a woman’s chest. Either way, the fact that she laughed again right after suddenly made me feel much more uncomfortable.
