Grace (Part 1)

The light hit the ring, catching Peter’s eye. Even the inscription -- despite being impossibly small -- was somehow crystal clear, even at a distance. It said, “Good for one wish.” He thought that was probably some sort of inside joke for whoever lost the ring, but he still thought about it right before he picked it up.

If he could wish for anything it would be to be irresistible to women and rich. Did that count as one wish? Or two? It’s not like it mattered. This thing couldn’t actually be magic, could it?

However, instantly reaching down to touch the ring proved it actually was magic, though his body didn’t seem to be changing in the way that would fit his wish. Of course, the ring granted a single wish, but not necessarily YOUR wish. A previous person in possession of the ring had asked to be an ideal form of feminine grace and beauty -- a perfect dancer’s body -- which is the wish Peter now had obtained.
