Using the body swapper to escape punishment for his crimes seemed like the perfect plan at first. But it didn’t take long for Don to regret his choices. For starters, his original body was still arrested, and all the money had stolen was taken into evidence. Most unfortunately, the body swapper was also seized by police, but he couldn’t imagine they’d ever figure out what it did or how to use it.
Then there was the issue of the body he had been swapped into. She was a housewife in suburbia. She was rich enough to be able to rely on her husband’s salary but not rich enough to have a maid or anything. He had to keep up appearances if he wanted to keep his cover -- especially with the woman locked up in his body squawking about who she really was. So he did his best to play the part of the good housewife by cooking, cleaning, and shopping.
On some days, Don thought it was worse than prison. And yet with her husband at work during the day, he still had a lot of freedom. And being able to have as many cigarettes as he wanted during the day was often motivation enough to keep up the lie and stay out of prison.
