Of course, while all of that was going on with Evelyn, there was an equal and opposite reaction on the other side of town. Jose noticed the changes to his body far sooner than Evelyn did. His job involved a lot of heavy lifting, and it was becoming increasingly more difficult for him to do.
The pink nailpolish on his finger nails was also a dead giveaway that something was obviously wrong. His body was clearly becoming more feminine, starting from the tips of his fingers and toes before moving up his arms and legs.
He certainly considered the possibility that he wasn’t transforming into a woman -- that he was slowly but surely switching with someone else. But he had no way to know who Evelyn was, or if she existed, or that she was the one having nearly identical problems in reverse. And even if he did, it’s not like there was any way to turn back to normal.
