Adaptation

When doctors explained what had happened, Miles didn’t believe it. The idea of a brain transplant was just something he couldn’t accept. He didn’t believe his own reflection and his body still felt numb from the surgery. It wasn’t until he saw his original body that it all set in.

Then it all hit him: his new smaller female body, his soft voice, all of it.

His old body still looked so healthy. It was weird to think it was so close to death. Then again, so was this woman’s brain that was now inside that body. Meanwhile, his own brain inside her body could live on -- but what kind of life would it be? How was he going to adapt to all of this?
