Noodles (Part 3)

As the days went on and more stores opened, I began to fill up the cabinets in her kitchen -- or, well, I guess I thought of it as my kitchen now. I started with the lower shelves, and it didn’t take long before I had to keep moving up.

But even the next shelf up to reach was difficult for my new body. I felt so short as I had to find a step stool just to reach it, and even then it was a challenge.

I tried not to dwell on it. Things were finally starting to feel normal again and realizing that I was much shorter now wasn’t on the list of things I felt like I needed to worry about. There was proving my identity, for one. Programs were being put in place that helped people reclaim everything that was theirs and returning to my own home might be nice.
