Natasha stared. Herman’s invention had worked just as he described, and it had transformed that nerd into an exact copy of her down to even the little things like the outfit and purse. She had told him what would happened next.
She looked him in the eye and begged, “You don’t have to do this.”
“Yes, I do,” He said replying with her voice, “There can’t exactly be two Natashas running around.”
“Why not? It’s fine. I don’t mind. No one will ever notice. And I’ll be the one to move thousands of miles away. You can even have my life here if that’s what you want.”
Herman’s hand hovered over the button in his pod. He could transform her body into the one he had moments ago. But she was right, he really didn’t have to do that. There were other options, and yet...
