I used to hate work. It was boring drudgery every single day to earn just enough money to survive. Then the Great Shift happened, swapping everyone’s bodies, and somehow turning work into the best eight hours of the day.
The main reason? Well, I had swapped bodies with my girlfriend Natalie, and it was a break from the way she insisted I act now that I had her body. I still had to dress the she picked out in the morning, but she couldn’t stand over my shoulder all day while we were apart.
I could slouch. I could have a cup of coffee. Most importantly, I could eat what I wanted to eat. I told her I was buying salads at CHOPT, but in reality I was going to places like McDonalds. If she knew, she would freak out, but I absolutely cherished those moments with those burgers when I could still feel like myself.
