Drive (Part 2)

If things felt strange for Michael inside of the car, they started to feel even stranger as he started to get out. For one, it wasn’t just the fact that he was dealing with a whole new body, he was also noticing the clothes that body was wearing. Upon opening the door, he felt the cool night air on his nyloned legs -- causing goose bumps on the smooth skin. Placing a foot on the ground, he stumbled a bit thanks to the heeled shoes on his feet. He thought for a minute about taking them off, but running around barefoot seemed like an even worse idea. He wondered how women managed in such impractical shoes, but he also realized he didn’t have much choice in the matter at the present moment. Of course, the bigger question now was where he planned to go. The radio had continued to report on what was being called “The Great Shift” also mentioned the roads were a mess. If was going to go anywhere, he’d probably have to walk.

Max acted quickly. Instead of swapping he and Michelle back into their own bodies, he had other plans. He tied his former body up and set up a chair on the other side of the basement. He waited. He grew bored of waiting for Michelle to wake up, so he went upstairs and dug through some of her clothes before selecting the hottest thing he could find. When he returned back to the basement, he discovered Michelle had already awoken. It wasn’t quite the dramatic way in which he wished to break the news, but he sat down in the chair to deliver his speech as planned.

“Here’s the situation,” He told her, “I have managed to switch our brains. I’m not quite ready to switch them back yet. Before I untie you, I will need you to agree to my terms. I suspect they will be agreeable. After all, you wouldn’t want anything to happen to your body.”

Michelle nodded.

“Good,” Max replied, “First, the length of term of this swap is to be determined by me at whatever time I wish to determine it. For now, the swap will be open ended. Next...”

Reassignment (Part 1)

It was the one day each year everyone dreaded. They went to bed hoping they wouldn’t be among the few selected. Lewis had gone to bed that night without many worries, but the changes to his body were unmistakable once he awoke: He had been reassigned.

Looking at his new body in the mirror, he wondered if the person he had swapped with had tried to get up early to try to avoid being switched. She had rollers in her hair and her makeup was fully done. Reassignment didn’t care if you were awake or asleep, however.

Lewis spent the next hour packing a small bag. He knew representatives from The Company would be arriving soon. When the two men in suits came, they instructed that he wasn’t allowed to bring anything from his former life with him. He left the bag and pulled out a single record, holding it close and begging the two men that he be allowed to keep it. They just shook their heads, pried the record from his hands, and dragged him to the van to be taken to the Reassignment Center.

Back in Time

“So, the secret ingredient that will send us back to the future and back to our own bodies is turnips?” Luke asked.

Doug smiled, “I think so. I mean, it’s a lot more difficult to research in this time period without the internet.”

“It’s not like the internet was that helpful with your research back in our own time.”

“Hey, the magic spell worked as promised. It sent us back in time into the bodies of one of our relatives. I just didn’t expect it to be female relatives. At least we’re young!”

“Even if I’m in a young version of my grandma, it’s still my grandma, and it’s still weirding me out.”

New Model

As Zach walked up and down the runway to practice his balance in heels, he was beginning to think he might actually pull this whole thing off. He still wasn’t sure how the website had swapped his body with Monette, but the count down clock seemed to indicate they wouldn’t be switching back to their own bodies for at least a week. Monette was an aspiring model, and she had her first big name show in two days. Once she had switched bodies with Zach, she had to beg him to do it in her place. He was reluctant at first, but he ultimately decided that having a hot model owe him a big favor certainly wouldn’t be a bad thing. With each walk down and back, he switched into a different pair of Monette’s shoes -- having the heels get progressively higher each time. He was pretty sure he’d be able to handle her show and started to look forward to swapping back once the clock counted down. However, neither of them realized that the clock wasn’t the amount of time left until they could swap back, it was the amount of time they had left before being stuck in their new bodies permanently.

Service Industry

Henry and the other guys at the brokerage where he worked would often hit up a sushi restaurant after work. It was on one evening when the service was particularly slow that Henry’s big mouth got him into trouble. He started complaining and it got out of hand quickly. He loudly accused several waitresses of being illegal immigrants. He also said the only reason they worked in the low paid service industry was because they were lazy. The owner overheard the abuse. She knew the service was slow due to the dinner rush. She wasn’t going to tolerate Henry treating her employees so poorly, so she decided to teach him a lesson.

In the middle of one of his shouts, Henry went quiet, the whole restaurant did. Suddenly, he found himself standing on his feet with a pen in his hand. Instead of barking, he was being barked at, but all he could do was nod and write down what the person speaking to him was saying. It didn’t take him long to realize he was in the body of one of the waitresses!

He wanted to scream and walk off the job, but he just couldn’t stop himself from obediently taking orders and serving tables. It wasn’t until the end of his shift several hours later that he was able to finally sit down. His feet were killing him. The owner walked over and stood next to him with a smirk.

“You think this job is easy?” She told him, “You think you can do better? I pay most of my staff well, but not you. You’ll be making minimum wage. All my staff speak perfect english, but you’ll soon be finding your knowledge of it to be quite limited. And while I assure you that all my staff are here legally; you’re own papers are now questionable at best. Let’s see how easy it is for you to escape.”

Neil continued to stare at his hands when he felt a strange vibrating. This woman’s phone was ringing. He shrugged as he picked it up, still not breaking his fascination with his hands.

“Thank God, Diane!” The voice on the phone said, “You need to rush back from lunch fast! Everyone here is acting crazy! I think you may be the only one who can control them.”

Neil could barely manage a few sounds, “Uh?”

“I don’t even know how to describe it! There are women feeling themselves up in their offices, grown men are crying like babies, a few people have been talking crazy about swapping bodies. It’s all a huge violation of company policy. As the star of HR, you need to show these people that their actions have consequences!”

“Well,” Neil replied, “There might be a problem. I think I’ve swapped bodies too! I am not Diane!”

“Not you too!” The voice screamed.

First Night Out (Part 2)

After only two drinks, Al found himself moving from being a wallflower to making a fool of himself on the dance floor. He didn’t think two drinks was a big deal, but he wasn’t used to the lighter weight and lower tolerance of his new body either. He was much drunker than he realized. At the same time, he felt he had room for plenty more. As he continued to dance, he yelped out to the waiter to bring a drink out to him. Thanking the young man with slurred speech, Al felt a strange tingle in response to the young man’s proximity. Al realized he was feeling his borrowed body’s hormonal influence. Since he was in the body of a straight woman, he was now starting to find guys attractive! And with the alcohol running through his system, it was hard to fight this desire.

Hitchhiker

Lars wasn’t originally going to pull over, but he felt bad for the woman hitchhiker on the side of the road. She just seemed so desperate. Reluctantly, he stopped. The woman approached his car. She was only in her 40s, but the wrinkles on her face were already showing quite deeply. He guessed she was a smoker.

“Thank God!” The woman said, “I’ve been waiting for hours for someone to stop. You’ve got to help me get into town. I need to find my body.”

She could see the confused look on Lars’s face.

“I can explain,” She continued, “A few hours ago I picked up a woman at this very same spot. But when I pulled over, she did something. She switched our bodies...mostly. She had been young when I first saw her, but when we switched I became much older. I think my own body lost a few years before she drove off with it. I was a guy and now I’m a woman! It’s crazy! I know it sounds crazy, but you’ve got to believe me! You’ve got to help me out!”

Trying not to Panic

It happened in a flash. Suddenly, Ryan was standing on the street; he had apparently swapped bodies with some woman. He tried not to panic, but he knew holding it back was just fooling himself. But just before he had a breakdown, he felt a vibrating. Digging into the pants of the track suit he now wore, he pulled out a phone. A husky voice was on the other end claiming to be the woman whose body he now had. She wasn’t far, and Ryan hoped to get some answers.

As he walked, he could feel his new feminine body. He couldn’t think of a good way to describe what it felt like to literally walk in someone else’s shoes except “weird.” He continued to stay on the phone with the woman on the end other end, who explained that she was now in the body of a man. He also noticed that plenty of other people on the street were arguing or exploring their bodies. He began to realize this body swapping thing wasn’t isolated to him or this woman, perhaps not even this town.
