ICE'd

I sat and waited on the grass in front of the sciences building. When the swap first happened, Minyoung told me it was a fluke from some of the advanced biotech studies majors, and they’d discuss a plan to sort it out real quick.

Sitting with her body felt weird. It wasn’t just that she was wearing a skirt -- it was that I was wearing a skirt at all. It was the fact that I was a woman; I was in Minyoung Gao’s body. It was hard to wrap my head around. It was several hours before she exiting the building with my body. I confronted her, and she seemed surprised to see me.

It was one of the others she had been that finally confessed the plan. They were all foreign students afraid of ICE, even though they were on student visas. They had stolen our bodies and then called the federal agents. Even if that meant never seeing their own bodies again, they were all willing to risk it. I tried telling Minyoung that the plan obvious didn’t work; that I was still here. However, Louisa Ruiz piped in to inform me that it seemed I was the only one they didn’t round up...
