The streets were quiet. Ben had walked ten blocks and hadn’t seen a soul. This was much more troubling than the fact that he was currently inside Fei’s body.
He supposed this all started when he asked her own. She replied with the particular harsh rejection that she wouldn’t date him if was the last man on Earth. He even found himself wishing her words would come true; that they’d be alone in this world together, and she’d be force to be with him.
And that’s when things started to get quiet. It was a little longer before he noticed the change to his body. He figured he should try to find Fei. He guessed she was somewhere in his body, but then again, he didn’t really know that was true either. What if was some other man out there who was the only other person alive? Someone he would now have to be with if only to continue the human race? The thought was chilling.
