Open Thread

So I have opened up this site to anonymous comments and the like (I didn't realize they were 'closed' to only registered users before. Feel free to post in this thread with comments, questions, or to share a piece of TG media you like from another site.

  1. Great site, love the captions. The pop throughs are a touch annoying but wholely tollerable. I hope you keep up the great work.

Medallion of Zulu and Great shift captions are my favorites especially ones involving family members with a large switch in roles occuring.

  2. The pop-ups generate me enough pennies to convince me to keep going--I know they are annoying.

    Thanks for the compliments!

Maybe I'll figure out some sort of huge swap to caption (or series of captions) but I find it hard hard to focus on more than one or two people per caption because of the images I find. :P

  3. I enjoy your captions a lot - but the darned pop ups and especially that big whole page advert that appears for some sex site is especially irritating so much so that it almost puts me off visiting the site altogether - isn't there some way to not have the pop ups - surely the adverts can be on your site without interfering with our reading - nothing worse than to have some stupid advert jump on the screen when you are trying to read your captions. Please do your best to fix this as it is really starting to aggravate me intensely.

  4. I have a pretty strict philosophy of "don't work unless you are paid for it." I do spend a good amount of time collecting photos, writing, uploading, etc. The ads certainly don't come close to compensating for this time, but it's enough incentive for me to keep it going--it's averaged out to about a quarter per caption, if you are interested, and as someone who has worked as a professional writer, that would be considered REALLY crappy pay.

It's not like I'm asking you for money; it's just a pop-up which you can click away or goes away.

I'm fully aware that they are a little annoying, but they encourage me to continue. Without the change they bring in, I would stop updating this site...then we all lose!

  5. I'm not saying no to adverts just that blasted pop up full page one that ninjas you whenever you are trying to enjoy your captions - it is not helping you, it is just a pain - however I understand what you are saying and if this is the price we must pay then fine - I accept that.
