The remote highway rarely had more than a single car driving down it at any time, so it was odd that several vehicles were driving along it when the solar eclipse happened. One of the drivers was distracted by the sudden loss of sunlight, smashing into another car and resulting in a chain reaction. Due to magnetic materials below the surface at the exact spot, the occupants of the vehicles all ended up swapping bodies with each other.
Jack had been a young man just out of college riding on his motorcycle, but now he was inside the body of the mother of a family of four sitting who had been sitting in the front passenger seat of a minivan. He sat on the roadside as everyone tried to figure out who was who. Perhaps the oddest moment was when the woman’s six year of daughter piped up with a slew of profanities, explaining that she was the actually the burly truck driver who had been behind the wheel of the big rig. They all began to talk about the possibility of trying to recreate the accident in hopes of swapping back to normal...
