Jin and Rin knew trying to use the app to return to the present with low battery life could be a risk. It might only bring one of them back or it might only bring them back halfway. But they had to try. And in a flash, they were back.
They looked up with a sense of relief.
“We’re back!” Jin said, but upon hearing his voice, he was disheartened, “But we’re still women.”
“We’re still the women we were,” Rin corrected him, noting they even still had the same clothes.
“And the phone’s dead.”
“At least we can charge it. And in the meantime? Well, things as a modern woman can’t possibly be as bad, can it?”
