Meredith was in shock when the Great Shift happened. She was stuck in a man’s body clear across town. Luckily, the body appeared to be in pretty good shape, as it seemed taxis and public transportation wasn’t working. As she walked on the streets, she quickly figured out why. It appeared she wasn’t the only one in the wrong body; just about everyone was.
When she arrived home several hours later, she was a little surprised to see their neighbor sitting on the couch reading. But then she realized and asked, “Ben?”
Her husband inside the neighbor’s body nodded.
“Why didn’t you call? Weren’t you worried?” Meredith asked.
“I did try to call,” He replied, “But your phone is, well, right on the end table. You could’ve called me, you know? Though I doubt I could’ve made it through traffic. There are accidents everywhere.”
She wanted to be angry with him, but she knew he was actually right. Plus, she was noticing that her new male body was reacting to seeing her now quite attractive female husband in ways that were quite a bit different than she was used to. She wondered if it was too early to suggest going upstairs...
