In rare moments in his spare time (which were often backstage after shows or just before bed), Jason would read through the contract in order to try to find a way out. His former life as a lawyer helped in understanding, but there didn’t seem to be much of a loophole. The terms weren’t favorable to him at all.

But he maybe had one hope. He could renegotiate the terms if both parties agreed. Though the only way he imagined that they’d be likely to do that is if the group made it extremely big -- they’d want an even bigger chunk. He had certainly seen the crowd sizes grow, but would it be enough? Maybe he could leverage the skills he had as Jason to help boost the group into superstardom. It seemed like even more work, which wouldn’t be easy. But it seemed like his only option.
