Kiki was a great fashion designer, but she had a horrible head for business. That’s were Herbert came in. He was one of her biggest investors, but he couldn’t keep letting her throw money away season after season. If she wanted to keep that investment flowing, they needed a new agreement to ensure the business side of things ran smoothly.
And so a new agreement was made. Kiki would prepare the fall and spring seasons at the same time, keeping one quite secret. Then for the next season, Herbert would take control of her body to run a smoother ship from a business standpoint. It was awkward for her to be in his body for pretty much half the year; he felt the same thing about being in her body.
It went on like this for several years with them swapping back and forth and growing a very successful business in the process. However, Herbert was a man in his 60s; it couldn’t go on forever.
It was tragically sudden. If it hadn’t been, Herbert would’ve insisted on returning to his own body for the end. Instead, he ended up living as Kiki. He continued her business; he started several others; he invested plenty as well. He began to leave the design work to Kiki’s assistants. After all, what did he know about that aspect of it?
