As the goblin guards left the room, Gideon watched his body rise to its feet. It looked so tall and intimidating, and he realized being in the body of the princess didn’t help. She was tall for a goblin, but shorter than the average human.

“You will give back what is the princesses.” Gideon heard his own voice growl.

“I...don’t...know...how.” An intimidated Gideon meeked out.

“He can’t,” Gwyn interjected.

“Whats?” The princess in Gideon’s body asked.

“The staff’s magical ablity can only be used once per day.”

“Staff broken?”

“Not exactly. More like...” Gwyn tried to think of a way to phrase it that even a goblin would undestand, “Staff sleeping.”

Gideon handed the staff to Gwyn. “It’s a Staff of Soul Swapping,” She explained to him. “I think I can figure out how it works and get you both back to normal by morning.”

“No! No normal!” The princess protested.
