Dante bent over to inspect the shiny item on the ground. It was all too often just a penny or a worthless piece of scrap metal, but he couldn’t take the chance of passing up another wish token. He had been careless with the previous one; it’s how he ended up stuck in the wrong body, with the wrong gender.

He had found the previous one in the exact same way -- just picking up a random coin on the street by chance. Now he was hoping he might get lucky twice and find another. Of course, he had been searching for over a year since he first ended up in this body with absolutely zero success.

e realized this made sense. Wish tokens had to be pretty rare, right? And he had ben lucky enough to find one, but dumb enough to make a careless wish with it. And now he’d be stuck like this unless he could find another.
