Mess

Kevin was glad that places started delivering again. He hadn’t adapted well since the Great Shift. Becoming a woman had been absolutely miserable for him. He’d just been depressed about the whole thing once it happened. He never even bothered to leave the apartment he found himself in. He spent days wearing the same clothes; he let the mess pile up; he tried not to shower.

He knew this wouldn’t last forever. The world was starting to finally move forward -- the food delivery, while welcome, was also evidence of this. He’d probably have to show up to work -- or at least sign on to work remotely. And he’d have to do some basic hygiene, or at least make sure he didn’t stink. He was still in no rush to do any of this. He hoped it was all a nightmare he’d wake up from, but the only nightmare was the absolute mess of living conditions he was creating for himself that would take longer to resolve the more he put off the inevitable.
